Lake House Meersburg, July 2024. TGOA publishes the 2024 update of The Market Performance Wheel for mediacockpit from German PIM vendor Bertsch Innovation.

The analyst house The Group of Analysts (TGOA) aims to deliver transparency in the software market through its unique assessment tool – Market Performance Wheels (MPWs). The MPWs enable the market to better understand the digitalisation potentials that the respective solutions provide. To achieve this, the assessment tool sheds light on four strategic areas: ability to perform, market performance, future proof, and technology. In contrast to traditional analyst approaches, the goal is not to compare software on a feature level but to distil the very essence of each player, thereby enabling companies to assess whether they fit strategically. 

The PIM solution mediacockpit from Bertsch Innovation stood out in the areas of customer performance, customer experience, and technology back in 2022. In particular, we highlighted the software’s ability to adapt to customers’ preferences, an area where the PIM vendor achieved 22 out of 25 points.

While mediacockpit remains strong in these areas, there has been considerable progress in other parts of The Market Performance Wheel. The most noteworthy result this year is the higher number of points achieved for its marketing performance: While Bertsch Innovation was awarded 19 out of 25 points in 2022, the company could earn as much as 21 out of 25 in this year’s assessment. 

“Being able to communicate one’s value proposition requires clear messaging as well as consistent and frequent market communication,” says Temel Kahyaoglu, Chief Analyst and CEO of TGOA. “To achieve this, a software vendor needs a marketing organisation that can think strategically and work autonomously on clearly defined short-term and long-term objectives. Bertsch Innovation has made substantial progress in this respect in the past two years, which has turned them into a real thought leader for product content management.”

In addition to their marketing performance, the German PIM vendor could increase its results for its geographical strategy (12 out of 25 points compared to 11 out of 25 in 2022) as well as its partner performance (from 16 points in 2022 to 17 in 2024). The partner performance is a strong indicator for a software vendor’s ability to scale, which is why the current strategy will help Bertsch Innovation claim and expand its market positioning in the long run.
